I miss you Rock Stars!

Hello Rock Stars!
I am enjoying my time with baby Nathaniel! He is also six weeks old. He enjoys eating, sucking on fingers, using lots of diapers, and drinking milk. His big brothers love him very much, they tickle baby's toe-toes to make him smile. I hope your year is going well and I will be by to visit soon. --Mrs. Adams

Time Flies...

When you are learning and growing. This was a fantastic assessment on what children know about time and how they view a clock. For both assessments all clocks were removed from the room and each student was instructed to draw their best clock and write what they know about time. For the past few weeks each child has kept a clock on their desk; they set the time at different times of the day to let me know they are ready to get to work. Check out these before and after clock depictions. Click on pictures to view close up!

Our Wish to the World

What the world needs now is love, recycling, Jesus, kindness and caring according to some of these precious gifts to the world. Each student created their own wrapping paper and with a flip you can read their gifts from their heart.

The Rock Star Tribe Heads to the River

We ended our study on Native Americans with a trip to the river to clean and prepare our buffalo hide. We traveled in the cool brisk air, over mountains (the playground), through grassy plains to find our "river" and dip our buffalo hide. Each child selected two symbols for their Native American name. As their leader, Mrs. Happy Blossom was very proud to go on such an exciting journey.

Wild About Books!

What a great way to end our week. The Rock Stars were inspired by the book, Wild About Books and created these amazing costumes. We had a blast marching in the literacy parade.

Listen to Our Hearts

Inspired by My Map Book, The Rock Stars drew a map of their heart and shared a small moment about the person or thing close to their heart. We will use these throughout the year to extend into our Writer's Workshop.
